Inside Lacrosse has also learned that the Cannons are in the process of trading Brian Karalunas to the Ohio Machine for a first round pick in the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft and an as yet undetermined defenseman on the Machine roster (Chad Weidmaier, according to the news release). This deal has been agreed to by both teams but has not yet been approved by the league; though it is expected to be ratified before the official announcement of the Rabil trade.The Cannons have not made the MLL playoffs since 2012and are in the midst of a significantoverhaul of their roster after the loss of Ryan Boyle and Stephen Berger to retirement in the offseason and will now look to Ryan Young (acquired at the conclusion of last month’s Supplmental Draft) and Seibald to replace the 122 points of offense that Rabil, Berger and Boyle produced in 2014. Young and Seibald combined for 31 goals and 7 assists in 2014 but will carry more of hte load in aCannons’ offense that needs a new primary initiator.Last August, theLizards were eliminated from the playoffs by the eventual champion Denver Outlaws (the second time in three years that the Outlaws ousted the Lizards).
